Before I quit all sport in favor of surfing, until I was 13, I used to play Aussie rules football
In fact, as a junior I was in a team that won 5 grand finals in a row.
We were literally on fire.
As I reflect on the reasons behind that success I am reminded of something our coach used to say each Saturday after each win.
"See you all at training next week Rain, Hail or Shine"
You'd look out the window at 3pm on a school day and it'd be belting down so you couldn't see more than 10 meters ahead, yet you knew everyone would be at training.
It was not negotiable.
And if you didn't front, regardless of how good a player you were...
A simple set of rules that were part of a winning formula
I see the same patterns today with business teams who win.
Those who keep at it every day who keep trying, keep fronting up for appointments
Keep making calls - regardless of if business is tough
Keep training, keep getting better at what they do...
Rain Hail or Shine they keep going...
Yet another formula for success keep doing what you know will add value to other peoples business
Keep doing what you believe in and the day you stop believing Do everything to re-define the value you place in what you do
and if that fails
Go do something else
Take care of yourself and the ones you love
