Eva Maria is our youngest author. Born in Russia in 1990, she moved to New Zealand with her parents, brother and sister in 1996. In 2003 she was given the opportunity to undergo mentor training and is now working towards her International Coaching Certificate

Eva-Maria spent a year writing "You Shut Up!" Her aim is to offer suggestions and give valuable insight for parents to help improve relationships with their teenager(s). It is not a comfortable read. In this book Eva Maria covers a teenager's thoughts on:

Mood swings, peer pressure and how to deal with their weird friends

Drug use and the signs of kids on drugs

Depression and suicide

The technology obsession

Sex, discipline, decision making and good choices

Ultimately, the book is about communication.

I have to confess, I don't agree with everything Maria says in her book, but one thing she does make you do, is to think and to put yourself in the teenager's shoes!
