New Zealand is now being lashed by the Australian storms

The storms hit us over the weekend - absolutely nothing like the ones Australia is still feeling - but we certainly cuaght the tail end of something big.

Our waterfront had to be closed - we had what is known as a 'king' tide - homes on the waterfront of most of the east coast of the north island have been flooded and kids are having a wonderful time canoing along what are normally roads next to the beach.
