Is a website really necessary? Yes!
I know that starting out in business, or for small business owners, the cost of having a web presence seems like yet another cost you can do without. And yes, with various social networking sites it is possible to now have an online presence without actually having your own site - but, in my humble opinion, NOT having a web presence will be any business;s most costly mistake.
