France proposing to legislate that 50% of boards must be WOMEN
Sometimes change has to be legislated....
I remember the challenges over inter-racial sports teams and because of the depth of prejudice some countries legislated for a quota - people were furious, said it would dilute the particular sport. It was ligislated - quotas were installed now the countries who refused to have inter-racial teams have them quite naturally because they discovered TALENT!!
With regard to having women involved in various sectors - I think similar things happened with Fire services (to have a quota of women) and the Armed services - now France is proposing liegislation that 50% of corporate boards must be women. Way to go France!!
