Finally someone has found a use for old tyres! Yeah
Tyres are normally one of the biggest headaches when it comes to recycling v destruction.
1 billion tyres are manufactured globally each year - most end up in a dump or are sent overseas to be burned - merely sending the pollution problem to some other poor country.
3 NZ entrepreneurs have come up with a way to reuse them.
The process involves breaking down shredded typres by heating them - the gases producted are cooled and liquids distilled to make carbon - steel - oil and gas. The gas itself fuels the machine which means it is self-sustabable and doesn't release smoke, odour or toxic emissions.
