Do your children have regular chores around the house?
I most certainly did and my children most certainly did - firstly it taught us that houses don't clean themselves and secondly it taught us that to get pocket money we had to make a contribution and EARN it.
I've just been working with a small team where they had an overseas student on exchange - won't mention the nationality cos it really doesn't matter - the point was that the young guy HAD NEVER WASHED A DISH, OR MADE A BED OR SWEPT A FLOOR in his entire life - his mother had done everything for him.
The rest of the team were women so needless to say he didn't have a chance - they are teaching him everything he needs to know about cleaning and pitching in!! Poor guy - but honestly, why would anyone bring their child up to be so useless - what happens when he goes flatting or when he gets married?
