Do you think the day will come when families are limited to one child?

Years ago I was in Singapore for a speaking gig and I took a bus tour around the place. I was fascinated when the tour guide started telling us 'this area is where people with only one child live. They get to send their children to the best schools.' We then drove on a little way to an area that wasn't quite so nice - her comment 'this is the area where people live who have two children - their children go to not so good schools' and finally we were driven through what could only be described as a poor area and she said'this is where families live who have more than two children - the government gives them no help with educating their children.'

I was shocked to say the least. We are talking 20 yeas ago -but Singapore is a tiny country with very limited space. And of course China instigated that policy for many years - not sure if they still do?

But I've just read an article where NZ is coming under increasing pressure to grow and produce more food! The statistics are:
