Australia leads NZ in 10 of 11 categories
They have bigger houses than us
More Cinemas
Fewer road deaths (7.8 per 100,000 v NZ 10.1)
More cars (not a bad thing in my book)
More broadband (8.1 subscribers per 100 in NZ, 10.3 in Oz)
More drink (NZ consumes 8.9 litres per person per year - Oz = 9.8! There's a joke in there somewhere but I will not get sucked in)
More leisure (we work 887 hours per year they work 864)
More cellphones (once again not a bad thing in my book - they seriously tick me off in cafes and airports - WHY DO PEOPLE HAVE TO SHOUT ON THEM - don't get me started)
Fewer deaths from heart attacks (NZ 127 per year - Oz - 111)
They live longer (****!) NZ 80.2 yrs - Oz 81.1)
HOWEVER
We have more McDonalds outlets (perhaps why we have a higher death rate)!!!!
BUT WE HAVE MORE WATER!!! And that is becoming very important as Oz is hit by dust storms and drought.
But hey - I love visiting Oz - adore Noosa - think Malloollaba is divine - but for me it is just too HOT over there.
