Are teens now bored with Facebook? 1:5 have left at an alarming rate
According to a study by
OTX - almost 1:5 teenagers have either decreased or discontinued their Facebook use as of April 2010 and the departure is speeding up month on month. It would be interesting to know where they are going?
28% cited 'moving to other sites'
27% said 'to many notifications'
21% said 'tired of trying to keep up with all the activity'
20% said 'too many ads'
In NZ property developers and people who want to invest in real estate closely follow where university students live - it will be an area reasonably close to town and/or transport links and will be in a state of disrepair. So the developers and investors move in - do the area up - property prices rocket and the students move on.
Perhaps we need to follow the teens to find out the next new thing to market on. Actually that makes me tired just thinking about it, so I won't.
