Are kids becoming addicted with multitasking technologies

Watched a show on NZ TV where 6 young girls were parted from their cellphones for TWO HOURS; taken out for coffee and some shopping and they showed visible signs of panic and distress - they took no pleasure in the outing, they just wanted to get back to their cellphones.

Is this healthy?

Check out this video which actually researches the effects of the most 'wired' kids - the ones who have laptops and several cellphones going at once. Scary stuff.
