Alcohol and teenage drivers. A lethal cocktail in NZ't mix!
The age for driving in NZ is 15 (because of our rural population); we also have a hideous binge drinking culture, especially among our young teenagers.
A terrible combination
So we read that NZ youngsters are 60% more likely to die in crashes as a result of drinking than our Aussie counterparts......what a waste.
Finally our government is upping the driving age to 16 and making a zero alocohol tolerance on teenage drivers - about time!!
