27 million people lost their jobs last year!
That is 6.75 times the population of New Zealand - hard to even imagine. (We just had a real life example of the tragedy here - a new supermarket was opening and advertised for 120 workers - THOUSANDS queued for hours - tragic.)
A PARTIAL breakdown of those 27 million:
12 million were in North America, Japan and Western Europe
4 million in Eastern Europe
Youth unemployment has increased by over 10 million in the past two years.
it seems that Asia, Africa and the Middle East were more stable - well done those countries
